How Ed Got Into Broncos

Ed’s Bronco journey started early. His first truck at 18-years-old was a Bronco, which he owned for several years before “my wife made me sell it.” That early experience stuck, eventually leading him back to Broncos in a much bigger way.

Ed’s Current Broncos

  • 1966 Bronco (project): “Pixystix”

  • 1974 Bronco: “The Old Man”

  • 2025 Stroppe Bronco: “Rooster”

Story Behind the Old Man

The 1974 Bronco was purchased in La Grande, Oregon after trading a 1968 Mustang for it. Version one of the build was completed together with Dave Redinger in his shop, which led to the Bronco being named The Old Man. It is Ed’s most prized possession, and he plans to “have it as long as I’m walking this earth.”

Modifications and Customizations

While jokingly described as stock, Ed’s Broncos include extensive upgrades:

  • Late-model 302

  • 6R80 transmission

  • Atlas transfer case

  • Dana 60 front axle with 3-link suspension

  • 14-bolt rear axle with trailing arms

  • Coilovers

  • Stretched wheelbase

  • Edelbrock fuel injection.

Future Plans

Ed has many future plans for his Broncos, though details are being kept quiet: “Just don’t tell my wife.”
